As GEG’s largest and most comprehensive development since Phase 2, the vision for Phase 3C was ambitious. It core centres around hospitality and entertainment. It includes the client’s first indoor arena with a capacity of around 20,000 spectators, a 600 key Andaz Hotel, a conference and exhibition complex, banqueting halls, a multi-level car park and a casino, plus extensive staff and BOH facilities.
The external architectural design is characterized by a structural exoskeleton that wraps around the exterior, creates canopies and is the primary element to structure the facade. The resulting characteristic forms and geometries became the primary formal inspiration for the formal and graphic expression of signage and wayfinding, while the materiality aligns with the finishes used for the interior design and some external cladding finishes.
