Spaceagency is delighted to have received a 2022 Global Design Award from the Society for Experiential Graphic Design for the design of the wayfinding and signage at Expo 2020 Dubai. The awards were selected from among 321 entries of projects from around the world- spanning the full spectrum of experiential graphic design. The jury evaluated projects in seven categories representing the core of experiential graphic design practice: Digital Experience Content, Exhibition, Interactive Experience, Placemaking and Identity, Public Installation, Strategy/Research/Planning, and Wayfinding. Spaceagency's project to design the full wayfinding system across the public realm of the Dubai World Expo received the following comments from the international jury:
“We loved the application of the traditional weaving techniques to this signage system, a brave move by the commissioner and a clever idea well realized. Equally stunning at day or night in a harsh environment. An example of a great collaboration between an international wayfinding practice and a local Dubai-based design studio.”
