Our Director, Sarah Manning, has been chosen as one of the featured voices of Talkin’ Heads for Domus Air Magazine for the month of March!
She discusses the AI application that holds the greatest potential for transformation in Wayfinding, both presently and in the foreseeable future.
“An AI-driven technology that has the power to transform wayfinding in the coming years will be a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) Journey Planner. I anticipate we will see the development of a digital layer that aggregates individual and shared mobility services, such as ride-sharing, micromobility and mass transit, presenting them through a unified gateway – on wearables and in the environment – that dynamically mediates people’s navigation. AI can enable the accelerated extraction, analysis, and structuring of multiple streams of real-time information, integrating mobility systems across city and even national boundaries into a common platform. With AI-powered journey planning we will see more personalised, suggestive, and predictive wayfinding information as we navigate, guided by our own and others’ usage patterns. Immediate feedback on disruptions, including upcoming congestion and accidents, can influence the optimisation of flows and offer a more seamless travel experience”.
